The Montenegrin Academy of Management, with the support of the global Academy of Management (AOM) and in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics Podgorica, University of Montenegro, is organizing the second MAOM workshop titled Computational Text Analysis – A Five-Day Workshop.
The program begins with an online orientation session on March 31, 2025, followed by in-person sessions from April 5–9, 2025 at the Faculty of Economics Podgorica, University of Montenegro. The workshop concludes with a follow-up online session scheduled for April 23, 2025.
The workshop focuses on introducing participants to contemporary computational methods for analyzing textual data and integrating these approaches into academic research. Through a combination of lectures, practical exercises, and discussions, participants will gain hands-on experience with key tools and techniques used in computational text analysis.
The program covers:
– Introduction to R Studio and major text analysis packages
– Topic modeling and sentiment analysis
– Text analysis for literature reviews and bibliometric research
– Word embeddings and large language models
– Best practices for publishing research based on computational text analysis

The workshop will be led by Dr Ivan Župić, Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Goldsmiths, University of London. His research focuses on computational text analysis, Generative AI, bibliometrics, and the digital economy, and has been published in journals such as Organizational Research Methods, Journal of Business Research, Management Decision, and European Management Journal.
Participation is limited, and applications are open until March 27, 2025 at 10:27h. The final list of participants will be announced the same day and communicated to all applicants via email together with additional details about the program.
The workshop is intended for professors, researchers, associates, and students interested in developing practical skills in computational text analysis and digital research methods.
