The Montenegrin Academy of Management, in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics Podgorica, University of Montenegro, and with the support of the global Academy of Management (AOM), is organizing the sixth MAOM workshop titled Building Theory and Corresponding Research Designs through 5M – Advanced Quantitative Analytical Techniques in Management Research: Mediation, Moderation, Moderated Mediation, and Multilevel Analysis.
The workshop will take place from October 6 to October 9, 2025 at the Faculty of Economics Podgorica, University of Montenegro (Room 202), with sessions held from 17:00 to 21:00 CET.
The program is designed to strengthen the connection between theoretical development and empirical testing in management research. Participants will explore how to build and align theory with research designs, develop hypotheses and typologies, and ensure coherence between conceptual models and empirical analysis.
The workshop also introduces advanced quantitative analytical techniques within the “5M” framework, including mediation, moderation, moderated mediation, and multilevel analysis. Through practical examples and applied exercises, participants will gain experience in interpreting results and integrating empirical findings into theoretically grounded research models.

The workshop will be led by Prof. Matej Černe, Full Professor of Management and Organization at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. His research has been published in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Human Relations, Human Resource Management Review, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and European Management Journal.
The workshop is intended for PhD students, early-career researchers, professors, research associates, and advanced master’s students in management and organizational sciences. Participation is free of charge with the support of the Academy of Management (AOM).
Applications are open until October 2, 2025 at 16:00 CET.
