The Montenegrin Academy of Management, in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics Podgorica, University of Montenegro, and with the support of the global Academy of Management (AOM), is organizing the third MAOM workshop titled The Power of Experimentation in Management Research.
The workshop will take place from May 29 to June 1, 2025 in Budva and Podgorica. The first two days of the program will be held in Budva as part of the MICEB – Montenegrin International Conference on Economics and Business 2025, while the remaining sessions will be organized in Podgorica.
The program is designed to introduce participants to the design, implementation, and application of experimental methods in management research. Through lectures and practical sessions, participants will explore key methodological aspects of experimentation and learn how experiments can be used to address research questions in management and related fields.

The workshop will be led by Dr Jelena Cerar, Assistant Professor at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business). Her research focuses on experimental design, behavioral strategy, and international business, and has been published in journals such as Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, and Journal of International Management.
The program covers topics including:
– Causality and methodological rigor in experimental research
– Design and implementation of online, laboratory, and field experiments
– Ethical considerations and participant recruitment
– Collaboration with companies in experimental research
– Group work, presentations, and discussion of experimental research designs
The workshop is open to professors, assistants, early-career researchers, PhD students, and top-performing master’s students from universities in Montenegro, as well as interested participants from abroad.
Applications are open until May 15, 2025 at 15:15 CET. All applicants will receive notification of the results by email on May 16, 2025.
