The Montenegrin Academy of Management, with the support of the global Academy of Management (AOM), is organizing the first MAOM Workshop titled Qualitative Research in Practice: From Foundations to Software and Theoretical Insights.
The in-person sessions will take place on February 10–11, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. CET, at the Faculty of Economics, University of Montenegro (Room 103), in Podgorica. Following the on-site component, participants continue their work through structured online modules that run until mid-April, allowing them to apply the concepts covered during the workshop, and further develop their research projects.
The program covers:
- Introduction to qualitative research and methodological fit between research questions and methodology
- Research design and preparation for data collection
- Data analysis, including an introduction to coding and the use of MAXQDA software
- Theory building and writing the final narrative
The workshop will be led by Professor Ivana Milošević (College of Charleston, USA), while the introductory segment will be delivered by Professor Milorad Novićević (University of Mississippi, USA). The opening lecture will be held in Montenegrin, followed by sessions in English, with the possibility for participants to engage in discussion in Montenegrin.


The workshop is intended for professors, researchers, associates, and students interested in strengthening their knowledge and practical skills in qualitative research.
